The last Tydain litter (The Q Litter) were born on the 31st of March 2018 consisting of 5 males and 4 females. It is very rare that we ever have puppies for sale from telephone or email enquiries as most of our puppies are sold prior to them being born to those people on our waiting list.
We are currently planning to breed from one of our females within the next couple of months for the Tydain R Litter, for more information watch this page but I would suggest that if you are interested in purchasing a Tydain puppy then you plan in advance and put yourself down on our waiting list now.
HOW TO GET ON THE WAITING LIST
Simply email firstname.lastname@example.org to enquire when our next litter is due and how full the current waiting list is, letting me know if it is a male or female you are looking for and any other requirements such as coat type, colour etc if those things are important to you. I will reply letting you know what we have planned and if it suits you, place your name on our waiting list.
ONCE THE PUPPIES ARE BORN
Once the puppies are born I will be in touch. I work on a first come first served basis, therefore if you are the third person on the list waiting for a female you will be the third person to choose your female puppy from the females in the next litter, If you are first on the list, you get to choose first. If there are 4 female pups in the litter, the third person on the list will have a choice between 2 pups, the first person between 4 pups and the 4th person will have no choice. Some people like to choose from the whole litter while others are happy to just have a quality puppy.
If having a choice is important to you then I am quite happy to roll your name over to our next litter to get you higher up the list. If in the meantime you find yourself a puppy from another breeder all I ask is that you let me know so that I can update my waiting list.
Many of our puppies are sold to old friends who have purchased puppies from us in the past, whether that be as a family pet or a working dog. My attitude is that once you have bought a Tydain puppy, that is the start of a long relationship.
WHAT HAPPENS NEXT
Once I know how many and what sex the pups are, I will contact those on the waiting list to let them know that there is a puppy for them (or conversely, that there isn't sufficient in the litter). I will then email a copy of our puppy purchase contract and an information sheet to the lucky ones and will request a deposit of £200 to secure the puppy and the new owners position on the list (or order of choice).
After about 1 week once the new mum has settled with her pups, those purchasing from that litter, plus family & friends are welcome to come and see the pups. Its worth remembering that for the first 3 weeks they pups are pretty inactive so there isn't a lot to see but nevertheless its nice to see them at the start and take a few photographs. We welcome prospective puppy owners to visit as often as they like but would ask that the visit is kept to a reasonable time as puppies get tired very easily.
Puppies cannot be sold prior to the age of 8 weeks. Prior to that I will arrange with all of the new puppy purchasers an appointment for a minimum of 1 hour to visit, select and collect their puppy in the order that they are on the list. On the day, the first person/family on the list will come, choose their puppy and take it home, the next person will then arrive and so on until the last puppy has gone to its new home.
I know that many breeders allow people to choose puppies from as early as 1 week of age, putting a coloured collar around its neck, I don't do that. A puppies character changes so much week by week that I believe that matching the right puppy to the family is best done at the last possible minute.
Having spent 8 weeks observing the litter I get to know aspects of the pups character that can be vital in making sure people get the type of puppy they want. Some pups display more dominance, some are more playful whilst others are very laid back. I am always happy to give my opinion and advice, however, if I should consider that someone is choosing completely the wrong puppy for their circumstances, I reserve the right to return their deposit and cancel the sale.
Nothing is more important to me than my puppies end up in the right home with the right owner. So far it has never happened as most people are only too pleased to be offered help, however should that day arrive, its better to stop the sale than have the wrong dog in the wrong hands.
The balance of the purchase price is payable either by bank transfer on or before the day of collection, by cash on the day of collection or by cheque 10 days prior to collection in order to allow the cheque to clear.
Please note: I do not sell to anyone who is a dealer or an agent. My puppies are only sold directly to either the family who it is going to live with or if a working dog, to the police force.
WHAT DO I GET WITH MY PUPPY
All puppies come with sufficient food to last at least 1 week. A copy of their Kennel Club Registration papers, a copy of the pedigree, a signed copy of the sale contract, an information pack, a small booklet written by myself advising on feeding, crate training, socialisation etc. An insurance policy covering the puppies for 4 weeks and a lifetime of support.
Then call or email me to arrange to pop down for a cup of tea and a chat and to meet our dogs, you will always be made welcome. If you like what you see, get on the waiting list, its virtually the only way to get a Tydain German Shepherd pup.
